Ever since the Juniors, Midge, Match and Emma had done things together. They were the three Ms, and everyone knew they were inseperable. But lately Midge has started to feel excluded. Match and Emma only seem interested in hanging around the shops and talking about boys and discos Midge finds it all rather disgusting! She's in no hurry to grow up, even if it does mean she has to play on her own. Then, on a snowy day in the park, Midge meets someone who feels just like she does, a scruffy boy in threadbare jumper and jeans, and things are never quite the same again...
