Lewis is a brilliant inventor with a surprising number of amazing inventions to this credit. His latest and most ambitious not to mention impressive project is the Memory Scanner to help him find his real mother so he can be part of a (small) happy family. Before he can find her, at the school science fair, it is stolen by this weird bowler hat guy and his companion, the living, breathing, thinking, hat Doris. Lewis decides to give up and when he finally has, Wilbur Robinson comes as a total stranger to take the hero to the future to track down the thief and finally find his mother. But things don't always go the way we planned and the story ends in a strangely unexpected twist of fate. Recommended for 8 - 12 year olds to read by themselves or any aged child to read with their parents or older siblings.
