Some Birds and Mammals of the Woodland

Although there are said to be about 4000 different kinds of animals including insects and other small creatures in our woodland, a casual walk will result in seeing only very small number of species. This book shows some of the birds and mammals many of which are very rewarding to find, though often much quietness, patience and luck will be necessary to see them. The Latin names, as used throughout the world, are shown in brackets after the English names. The sizes and weights are given in inches and lb. or oz. with their approximate metric equivalents in brackets.
