This title is specifically intended to deal with some of the concerns that children and their parents have about starting school, and to build confidence in the reader. The story is warm and offers some empathy to pre-school children and their parents. The pattern of the story follows the last few days before a child starts school. Each day the child offers a reason why she can't start school: she won't be able to use the toilet; her baby sister will be lonely and so forth. Each time, her mother reassures her by explaining the realities of school life in a positive and often humorous way.
