Trumpet has always been one of the gang. But when his forehead suddenly begins to sprout a horn, he finds himself isolated from the other horses. He is suddenly clumsy, getting his horn caught in trees and accidentally poking other horses in the eye. Trumpet is laughed at and then abandoned, and feels miserable for being so different.
